Palampur is a hilly town and a municipal council in Kangra district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Palampur is famous for its picturesque and snow clad mountains and tea gardens. Tea gardens are located between 800-1600 meters above mean sea level.It was one of the leading hill states and was once a part of the kingdom of Jalandhara.
