Climate: Climate is dry or mildly humid as Nagpur is located at centre of Indian peninsula far from Bay of Bengal and Arabian sea. Summers are extremely hot lasting from March to June, with maximum temperatures in May. Winter lasts from November to January. Nagpur city receives an annual rainfall of 1,205 mm (47.44 in) from monsoon rains during June to September. Geography: Nagpur district is located between 21*45 N to 20*30 N and 78*15 E to 79*45 E, which essentially indicates that Nagpur district is located in the Deccan Plateau. The underlying rock strata is covered with alluvial deposits resulting from the flood plain of the Kanhan River.

Sri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir in Nagpur has a fascinating exterior and interior, which are made up of sandstone and marble. This well-acclaimed temple of Maharashtra exhibits marvelous designs carved out of these two basic materials. Tekdi Ganapathi Temple : This temple is one of the most ancient and popular temples of Nagpur. It is located near the railway station. The temple is called Tekdi Ganapati as it is constructed on a hill and in Marathi Language a hill is called as a "Tekdi". Earlier, the temple was not more than a tin shaded temple but later it was constructed as one of the most respected temple. The construction of Ganesh temple was started in 1978 and completed in 1984.

Sitabuldi Fort : The Sitabuldi fort is an important landmark of Nagpur, located on top of a hill, right in the center of the city. A visit to Nagpur is not complete without a visit to this important landmark. It is one of the oldest attractions of the city. In the year 1857 a British officer, built this fort and since then it has been one of the interesting destinations in Nagpur. One can view this park from the twin hills of Sitabuldi. The fort now houses the office of the Territorial Army, and is open to the public on National holidays.

Ambazari Lake : This Lake is situated 6-km west of Nagpur. It is the largest and the most beautiful lake in the city. This place is very well managed and preserved by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The lake also has a garden located just beside it and is a model garden. It was established in 1958. The musical fountain, various electric rides and amusement games make this garden an ideal place to travel and children to enjoy. Sonegaon lake along with Gandhisagar lake are man-made lakes created by cities historical rulers. Ambazari Lake : (6 km west of Nagpur) Spread over 15.4 sq. kms. on the western outskirts of the city, Ambazari Lake is surrounded by a picturesque garden. Boating facilities and good walking trials provide an interesting outdoor activity. The musical fountain adds a romantic flavor to this beautiful spot. Futala Lake : Futala Lake is the best place to spend evening in Nagpur. Its a centuries old lake built by rulers of erstwhile princely state of Nagpur. It is surrounded by Lush green forest on 3 sides and beautiful landscaped Chowpatty on one side. You can view a beautiful sunset over the mountain across the Lake.
